The story begins at the turn of the 20th century when, during the railway route inspection, Prince Chakrabongse first heard of a serene seaside fishing village, Hua Hin, with long stretches of white sandy beach. He found it so beautiful and pristine that he reported it to HM King Rama VI, who then commissioned the first Royal Summer Residence outside of Bangkok, Mrigadayavan Palace, along with the construction of the Hua Hin railway station.
